The Matrox® Monarch EDGE E 8 is a multi-channel broadcast H.264 contribution encoder capable of transporting 4:2:2 10-bit video at resolutions up to 3840x2160 at 60 fps. This low-power appliance with a compact half-width 1RU footprint is equally suited as a 4K web-contribution encoder or as a remote-feed encoder for remote integration (REMI) applications. The Matrox Monarch EDGE provides encoding functionality for two live production workflows. In 4K, the Edge can encode UHD feeds up to 60 fps for web contribution. Using it for HD inputs, it enables remote feeds for in-house production for multi-camera events with broadcast delivery, as well as, remote feeds for cloud-based production for multi-camera events with cloud-based distribution. Part of the larger family of Matrox encoders, Matrox Monarch EDGE supports a number of encapsulation and transport protocols to deliver video over GigE networks. The optimized H.264 codec minimizes encoding latencies to enable live production applications while also keeping data rates exceptionally low—and without sacrificing quality.

A powerful PC application offers control and configuration capabilities for single or multiple devices from a comprehensive interface.
