Panasonic Adds New Firmware Features to AG-AC90

The Panasonic AG-AC90 has been one of the best bang-for-your-buck cameras released in recent times. Featuring 3CMOS sensors and the ability to record 50P, it does what other cameras costing twice as much cant do, in a portable handheld camcorder that weighs next to nothing. No wonder its been one of Videocraft's most successful choices for video journalists, event and corporate shooters. The new firmware release adds some nice features that make it worth the (free) upgrade, which can be downloaded here . New Low Bit Rate Record Modes Two new record modes have been added for flexibility: 720P/50P at 8Mbs and a 720X480 3.5Mbs mode which should be useful where image quality needs to be sacrificed in favour of quick uploading to cloud services. Time Stamp Borrowing from the consumer market, Panasonic have added the ability to time stamp the recording. This feature is more than likely to find use in law enforcement and other legal applications. Variable White Balance In addition to the standard preset white balance and custom white balance settings, you will now have the ability to dial in a variable white balance using the touch screen controls. Eye-Fi Card Support Support for Eye-Fi cards is now built into the camera's slot 2. BY using an Eye-Fi cards in playback mode, it is possible to wirelessly transmit recorded video or still pictures to a PC or mobile device for saving or sharing. Card Copying Function The camera features a dual-record mode, but a card can now be copied from one slot to the other for multiple backups.
