• CCT Range from 2500-10,000K: The BLAIR Light Engine’s colour flexibility allows the STORM 1200x to offer a greater CCT range than traditional bicolour lights without compromising on the accuracy or brightness of the white light.
• Extended Range +/- Green Control: The STORM 1200x is the first light of its kind to offer 100% +/- Green control, the full ASC MITC range of adjustment. Using the BLAIR Light Engine, colour adjustability has both a wider range and finer control than traditional systems. No other 1200w-range light offers this flexibility.
• ProLock Locking Bowens Mount: The STORM lights feature the ProLock Locking Bowens Mount, a more secure clamping design for attaching modifiers. Bowens accessories are held rigidly in place and precision optics light fresnels and spotlight projectors are precisely aligned with the light engine.
• Extreme Colour-Accurate Dimming: Bit-depth control is increased for improved low-end dimming. This enables the STORM 1200x to use PWM dimming down to 0.1% without shifts or dropoffs. Colour accuracy is maintained throughout the brightness range, even at extremely low brightness levels.
• IP65 Weather Protection: Head-to-toe IP65 dust and weather protection means the STORM 1200x can work in extreme environments. Seals on every connector and around components allow not only the lamp head but also the control box and cabling to be used outside in the rain.
• CRMX, DMX, and Bluetooth Connectivity: The STORM 1200x offers a full range of connectivity, with CRMX, DMX in and out, sACN and ArtNet over etherCON, and Sidus

The BLAIR Chip Project

In its new STORM family of LED monolights, of which the 1200x is the first, Aputure is debuting its breakthrough BLAIR chipset that features blue, lime, amber, indigo, and red LEDs to deliver higher brightness levels and color accuracy levels. Rated 95 for both CRI and TLCI standards, the light also scores an 87 SSI rating at 3200 and 5600K color temperatures, and the multicolor diodes improve the light's color-matching abilities. The full CCT range of 2500 to 10,000K is enhanced with green-magenta color correction for advanced white-point control, and the unit's daylight 5600K output reaches 202,500 lux at 3.3' when used with the included 45° reflector.

Advanced Dimming and Connectivity

The STORM 1200x comes with a controller that enables advanced dimming, control, and functionality. Stepless dimming is available from .1 to 100%, and flicker-free, color-accurate operation is possible even at the light's lowest output. Wired and wireless options offer users a variety of control protocols, including DMX, LumenRadio CRMX, Art-Net, and sACN Ethernet, and app control via Bluetooth and the Sidus Link and Sidus Link Pro apps to integrate the light into professional lighting workflows.

Build and Performance

The light's rugged construction is IP65 rated for dust and weather resistance, making it suitable for use in even the most demanding environments. The light features a Bowens S mount, allowing the STORM 1200x the broad suite of Bowens-compatible modifiers with easy coupling and secure locking.
